The use of color in the J. Crew November style guide is right up my alley. They never disappoint with their modern interpretation of classic style. Cozy sweaters, and tailored boots. What more could a woman need?

Dear Phylicia,
Romantic involvement distracts you and can blind you to what’s really in front of you. And what really is in front of you? You are. You don’t even know yourself yet. You think you know and you want to assert that you do, now that you’re a certain age, but you don’t. What’s in front of you is a whole world of experiences beyond your imagination. Put yourself, and your growth and development, first. There are long-term repercussions to what you’re doing now. Everything you do, every thought you have, every word you say creates a memory that you will hold in your body. It’s imprinted on you and affects you in subtle ways—ways you are not always aware of. With that in mind, be very conscious and selective.
With high hopes for you,
Phylicia

I went shopping with my fella-friend this weekend and had the pleasure of helping him pick out some great fall/winter wardrobe pieces and a stunning pair of brogues. I had been thinking about styling more menswear looks, but didn’t know where to start. Luckily, this shopping trip gave me some great ideas and plenty of inspirations.
Below are some looks I’ve put together. Get inspired!

She’s Italian born, but resides in Paris. Simply put, Elisa Nalin is SUPERB.
If you’re into vivid fusions of color and wild mixing of prints- Elisa is your girl. This international super star stylista studied classical art and fashion design at the Instituto Europeo Del Design before working at the Italian fashion house Costume National, becoming the creative director at Samsonite, and styling jobs for Dazed & Confused,i-D and Vogue Nippon. In addition to her amazing career, Elisa is considered one of the pioneers of the street style scene. And for this, we award her the style spotlight at House of Leigh!
Check out some of my favorite street style looks of Ms. Nalin.

It used to be, only the very daring would walk around with brightly colored hair, hues only found in a crayon box. But now more than ever, colorful tresses are extremely trendy. From purple braids to hot pink bobs- here are some of my favorite colorful hair styles!

(The ridiculously talented musicians and contemporary artists: Charly and Margaux)
I have tried really hard, for several years to enjoy Solange Knowles’ music. And I have failed. But although I cannot appreciate her musical styling, I absolutely love her fashion sense and over all style. She’s audacious. And every time I see her on the cover of magazines or gracing the red carpet, she further validates African women are SO high fashion.
It is no secret that I am truly, madly, deeply in love with Ms. Diana Ross. Since the age of eleven years old, the first saw “Mahogany,” I knew this would be a lasting love affair. She is everything to me. Grace, glamour, style, sophistication and all of the above. Ms. Ross is embodiment of what a smart, talented, brave woman should be and for that reason, I am highlighting her as a House of Leigh style icon.
Check out the photos below of some of her classic looks.
